Carolyn Casavan, P.E., Principal Engineer; Casavan Consulting

Carolyn has been providing environmental consulting and engineering services to industrial, municipal, and commercial clients for over 30 years. She has a unique background that includes managing her own environmental consulting firm, establishing a non-profit organization, and extensive community engagement. She is a registered Professional Chemical Engineer in California and a former Accredited Greenhouse Gas Emissions Lead Verifier and Transactions Specialist. Her areas of expertise include sustainability, energy efficiency, water conservation, environmental management systems, and data analysis.Environmental and Engineering, President of the San Fernando Valley Green Team, and current Principal Engineer of Casavan Consulting.

Carolyn graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1979. At that time, women didn’t have any role models. In her first job, she was one of 3 female engineers at a Mobil Oil research campus with 900 technical staff. She also worked in manufacturing for Mobil as one of 2 female engineers. Yes, it was a challenge. But in many ways, it was a benefit. Instead of following in the footsteps of others, she went with her instincts and took a natural approach to engineering. This led to her focus on sustainable solutions throughout her work as CEO of West Coast Environmental and Engineering, President of the San Fernando Valley Green Team, and current Principal Engineer of Casavan Consulting.
