Diane MacEachern, the founder and president of Big Green Purse and The World Women Want, LLC, is passionate about using the marketplace to protect the planet. She helps environmental organizations engage more women as members, activists, and donors while encouraging companies to meet certified environmental standards to reduce "greenwashing" and gain green consumer confidence. Diane has worked with companies like Home Depot's EcoOptions program and Whole Foods, the earth-friendly market that this year will start using Diane's eco tips in its shopping aisles. Diane's thirty years' environmental experience began with the Master’s Degree she earned from the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan. She lives in the Washington, DC metropolitan area in the energy-efficient home she helped design and build more than twenty years ago (and on which she just completed an eco-renovation). She has raised her two children on organic food and an ongoing diet of the "3 R's": reduce, reuse, recycle!
